The webinar Automotive + Heavy Vehicle Industry Roundtable featured Jimmy Dinsmore moderating a panel of industry heavyweights from Toyota, Ford, Tesla, Cummins, Jaguar Land Rover, Hunter Engineering and more.

- Suspension + Steering System Training System — ConsuLab EM-130 trainer featuring a full MacPherson strut suspension and steering system on an adjustable chassis that lets students perform live alignment adjustments and see immediate results on handling and tire wear. https://daktic.com/product/suspension-and-steering-trainer/
- Drivable Hydrostatic Transmission + Hydraulic Steering Training System — MF300 classroom trainer with transparent components for operating and diagnosing real hydrostatic drives and hydraulic steering systems used in skid steers and heavy equipment. https://daktic.com/product/hydrostatic-transmission-and-hydraulic-steering-training-system/
The discussion pulled no punches on the massive technician shortage and why too many students are steered away from the trades. Panelists from major OEMs and shops agreed that the key is giving students real, hands-on experience with foundational systems — electrical diagnostics, suspension and alignment work, and heavy equipment powertrains — so they see the career as high-tech, high-paying, and exciting instead of a last resort. They stressed the need for modern equipment that teaches actual diagnostic thinking and lets students experience how systems work together, especially as vehicles get more electrified and automated. When training feels like the real job, students stay engaged, parents support the path, and the industry finally gets the skilled workforce it desperately needs.
