A/C Training System with Orifice Tube

The A/C Training System with Orifice Tube is a complete, fully operational automotive air conditioning trainer using orifice tube refrigerant flow control, built with common OEM components to teach A/C physics, refrigeration cycle, and system operation in classroom or shop environments. It includes clear sight glasses at key points to visualize refrigerant state changes, transparent accumulator with internal light for observing desiccant function, high/low pressure gauges, OEM R134a service ports, adjustable multi-speed fans, and digital thermometers for real-time performance monitoring. This durable, mobile system supports hands-on learning of component functions, diagnostics, and safe refrigerant handling with hermetically sealed compressor and safety features.

  • Troubleshooting: In-line ball valves create high/low side restrictions or blockages, multi-speed fans simulate abnormal conditions, and cycling switch bypass demonstrates evaporator issues for diagnosing various A/C symptoms and performance problems.
  • Courseware: Includes operation manual and student assignment manual with exercises for structured learning on system principles, refrigerant behavior, and troubleshooting.

Description

The A/C Training System with Orifice Tube (EM-2000-OT_052941) is a complete air conditioning system trainer designed to enhance the instruction of air conditioning physics. This trainer utilizes the orifice tube design for refrigerant flow control and incorporates common automotive components, making it suitable for both classroom and shop environments. It features a hermetically sealed and internally protected compressor and operates on a 120V 15A 60Hz circuit. Clear sight glasses at the orifice tube, condenser, and evaporator allow demonstration and observation of the refrigerant change of state, reinforcing vapor/liquid physics. Two rows of LEDs help in viewing refrigerant flow in the condenser and evaporator. High and low side pressure gauges and OEM R134a service ports provide real-world diagnostic opportunities, allowing connection to A/C recycling/recovery machines and manifold gauges. A clear accumulator equipped with an internal light shows refrigerant operation and change of state, as well as desiccant operation. Digital thermometers located at the inlet and outlet of both the evaporator and condenser allow students to observe complete A/C system operation, with instructor control over the thermometers. In-line ball valves allow creation of system restrictions or blockages on high and low sides. Multi-speed fans for the evaporator and condenser can be used to demonstrate abnormal operating conditions. Various A/C system symptoms can be created and demonstrated. A cycling switch bypass allows the evaporator to become cooler than normal. Magnetic component identification labels and refrigerant flow direction arrows support student learning and testing objectives.
